We all know Bones reuses their scores, and often times the music we’ve heard in one ep may at some point or another be heard in a future ep.
In watching Monday’s proposal scene, I knew I’d heard that background music before, but I just couldn’t place it. I knew it was from a B&B end scene, somewhere after S2, but that’s all I could remember. So obsessed fan that I am, I picked and chose at random through my downloads until I hopefully found the right one. After about 20 minutes or so, I found it, it was from…..”Cinderella in the Cardboard”! Talk about coming full-circle!
As you know, at the end of ‘Cinderella’ Brennan admitted to Booth she wanted to believe that ‘love was transcendent and eternal’ and hopefully ‘lose herself in another person’ someday. And Booth promised her she would.
And now here we were, 4 years later, and Brennan’s ‘someday’ had finally arrived. After many moments of triumph and tragedy, Brennan was ready to lose herself in that other person, believing that love truly was transcendent and eternal. Sure Pelant seems to have gotten the last laugh, but in that moment, she was finally willing to accept what her stubbornness and fear had never allowed. And while things seem grim now, we know ‘everything happens eventually’, and I have no doubt ‘the center will hold’. ;)
She loves him. SO much.
and i love them. SO much.
This very moment made me cry because you can just see how much she loves him. She looks so safe in his arms. So relieved that HE’S safe. It’s like the world can’t hurt them as long as their together. She’s as close as humanly possible to him because he has to make sure it’s real… that he’s real. These two.

But, this is what you want.
But, you didn’t.
But, I do now.
